Welcome to River Falls Community Arts Base

Committed to Sustaining the Arts and Ensuring they are Available, Accessible, and Affordable to the Greater River Falls Community.

The River Falls Community Art Base is a non-profit organization dedicated to facilitating arts related events and projects in and around the community of River Falls, Wisconsin. Since 1996 CAB has sponsored such events as the annual Spring Art Gala, Music in the Park, CAB Barn Dances, Art on the Kinni, Main Street Art Crawl, and much more. Our board is made up of dedicated individuals who feel it is important to provide all members of our community with access to diverse, arts related events and that by doing so we enhance the quality of life for all of us. We are always looking for new projects to take on and encourage anyone interested in supporting the arts in our community to become involved by becoming a member today. Without the support of our members we would simply not exist.

It's all about Investment: Growing Wisconsin Creatively
Oct. 16, 2014, 1-3 pm, American Legion Hall
presented by
River Falls Community Arts Base and Arts Wisconsin

Artists, performers, arts organization representatives, arts supporters, educators, business people, economic and community development leaders, funders, elected officials, civic leaders, and everyone interested in the future of their community and region are invited to let their voices be heard at a Creative Summit, to be presented by the River Falls Community Arts Base (CAB) and Arts Wisconsin on Oct. 16 from 1-3 pm at the Fletcher Pechacek Post 121, 701 N. Main St. in River Falls, WI. Participation is free and all are welcome.

The Creative Summit will bring together activists in the River Falls area and across the region to network, learn, share, and strategize about the ways in which the arts and creative sector can help grow and strengthen Wisconsin for economic vitality, education for the 21st century, healthy and vibrant communities, and engaged residents.

Anne Katz, Executive Director of Arts Wisconsin, will attend and facilitate the Summit. The agenda for the Summit will include presentations on ideas, trends and initiatives for the arts and creative sector, and small group discussions about current and future opportunities for artistic and creative growth.

The Summit will accomplish the following goals:

Increase advocacy and visibility for the arts and creative sector locally, regionally and statewide

Hear and discuss local and regional needs, concerns and ideas

Provide education about the impact, value and benefits of the arts and creativity, and national, state, and local trends and issues facing the arts and communities

Discuss ways for local activists to become involved.

The arts and creativity work for a vibrant, innovative, and successful Wisconsin.  A recent survey of the arts in Wisconsin demonstrates that the state's arts industry has a $535 million+ statewide economic impact, and supports nearly 14,000 full-time jobs. Strengthening Wisconsin's creative sector is a critical strategy for the state and all of its communities to compete in the global economy, educate our children, engage residents, and to develop, attract and retain entrepreneurs and a high skilled work force through healthy, vibrant communities where people want to live, work, learn, and play.

"Creativity abounds in River Falls and the St. Croix Valley. The arts are part of the solution for this area and all of Wisconsin," says Anne Katz, Director of Arts Wisconsin. "It's time to recognize and invest in the arts and culture as an integral component in statewide and local economic development, community revitalization, and education."

CAB is a non-profit, all-volunteer organization heading into its 20th year in its stated mission of sustaining the arts and ensuring they are available, accessible and affordable to the greater River Falls community. Arts Wisconsin is the state's arts service, advocacy and development organization, working to grow Wisconsin creatively and ensure access to the arts for everyone, everywhere in the state.

The Creative Summits are made possible with funding and support from local donors, and the Wisconsin Arts Board and the Kohler Foundation.
