Each Spring CAB hosts our Annual GALA, a very popular event. Offering an evening of dancing to live big band music, elegant hors d'oeuvres, cash bar, raffle, artist demonstrations, and silent art auction, this event is always a great success. Many local artists and businesses donate their work and services to the raffle and auction, resulting in a rich and diverse representation of the community. The River Falls Golf Course graciously donates the space for the evening and board members and volunteers make sure everything runs smoothly. Tickets sales for the GALA go to cover the food and entertainment for the evening with the remainder, along with raffle and auction proceeds, going to help fund other CAB events and operations throughout the year.
To submit artwork to the 2010 Spring GALA Silent Auction bring artwork to the CAB Office and fill out a short form with the following information:
- Artist's name.
- Contact information.
- Brief description of the piece.
- Retail value of the piece (very important for attracting bidders and for your tax information; both this figure and the minimum bid below are required).
- A minimum bid (amount below which you would rather not sell the piece). This minimum bid not only protects the value of your work, it encourages bidders to spend more. Of course, if you are feeling generous, you may set the minimum bid low to attract bidders with less to spend. NOTE: a piece will be more likely to get bids if the minimum bid is less than the value; some people at fundraising silent auctions are eager to donate to the cause; many others, however, hope to take home a "bargain" and feel good about serving the cause. While a few high end pieces sell at each GALA, most people buy pieces in the range of $50 to $100, �and some lower priced pieces are desirable.
- An indication of whether to contribute your proceeds to CAB or to earn 60% of the sale.
Dates and times for delivering your pieces: a GALA Committee Member will be in the CAB office to receive your art work during the hours shown in the calendar below.

NOTE: Our office is not always staffed. If you cannot bring your pieces in the times provided, please contact a member of the committee at the number or e-mail address below and we'll arrange to meet you,� or we can even pick up your pieces.
Place: CAB Office in the Renaissance Academy, Suite 109 on the lower level. We will move the art from the Office to the Golf Course on the date of the GALA unless the artist especially wishes to set up her own work.
Entry Limits: Please limit your selections to no more than 5 pieces (or sets) so that we have space to represent all the artists who wish to participate. Please also remember that space to display large pieces is limited.
